The Ancestor Deep Dive is a focused research service centered on one person in your family tree.

Using the information you provide as a starting point, I will investigate available historical records to learn more about that ancestor’s life, relationships, locations, and documented history.

Depending on the ancestor, time period, location, and record availability, research may include sources such as census records, birth and death records, marriage records, newspapers, city directories, military records, cemetery and burial information, probate or property records, historical databases, and other relevant sources.

Review and analysis of multiple available record types when appropriate

A written research summary

A timeline of significant findings when enough information is available

Information about documented family relationships

Source citations and record information

Copies or links to located records when available

Identification of conflicting or uncertain information

Recommendations for additional research

What I’ll Need From You

You’ll be asked to provide as much known information as possible about your ancestor, including:

Full name

Maiden name or alternate spellings

Nicknames

Approximate birth and death dates

Locations where they lived

Spouse, parents, children, or siblings

Records or research you already have

Family stories that may provide useful clues

Research Scope

This service focuses on one individual ancestor.

Research that expands substantially into additional generations, multiple unrelated family lines, or a broader family-tree project may require a separate Family Line Research package.
