Flavor & Uses

Planting

Seed Saving

Allow selected pods to mature fully on the plant until dry and brown. Harvest the dry pods, remove the seeds, and make sure they are completely dry before storing in a labeled container in a cool, dry place. Okra can cross-pollinate with other okra varieties, so saved seeds may not always grow true to type when varieties are grown near one another.
