Sometimes you don’t need someone to research your entire family tree. You need someone experienced to help you understand what you already have, what the records are telling you, and where to look next.

My 60-minute genealogy consultation gives you dedicated time to discuss your family tree, historical records, DNA-related questions, conflicting information, or a family-history research problem that has you stuck.

Why Choose This Service?

Family-history research can become overwhelming when names change, records disagree, or you simply aren't sure where to look next.

This consultation gives you an opportunity to talk through your questions with an experienced family historian, examine the clues you already have, and develop a practical direction for continuing your research.

What's Included

Your $60 consultation includes one 60-minute session with personalized guidance and recommended next steps.

Depending on your needs, we can discuss your existing family tree; conflicting names, dates, locations, and relationships; census records, obituaries, vital records, and family documents; family stories and documented evidence; DNA-related research questions; strategies for African American and Southern genealogy; and places to look for additional records.

This is a guidance and research-strategy service. Independent research conducted outside our consultation is not included unless separately purchased.

Who Is This Service For?

This service is for beginners who want help getting started, family historians who have reached a roadblock, and anyone who wants a knowledgeable second look at existing records or a family tree.

If you want someone to complete research on your behalf rather than guide you through it, one of my focused research services may be a better fit.

How the Process Works

Please provide a current email address at checkout. After your purchase, I will personally email you a link to my Genealogy Research Client Intake Form.

Complete the form before your scheduled consultation, sharing your questions and any relevant names, dates, records, photographs, or family-tree information. This gives me an opportunity to review your starting information so we can make the most of our time together.

We'll arrange your consultation after the intake information is received. During our 60-minute session, we'll discuss your questions, review relevant information you've provided, and identify useful next steps.

From My Family History Desk

I've spent more than 30 years researching, documenting, and preserving family history.

My own research journey is deeply connected to my ancestors in Gee's Bend and Alabama's Black Belt. As a descendant of these families, I understand how important it is to preserve names, relationships, stories, and the historical records that help connect generations.

I specialize in African American and Southern family-history research, bringing both personal experience and a deep respect for family heritage to my work.

Researcher's Note

Family stories deserve to be heard, examined, and preserved with care. I want you to leave our conversation with a clearer understanding of what you know, what still needs investigation, and where you might look next.

Genealogy is an investigative process. Historical records can be missing, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory, and no particular discovery or answer is guaranteed.

Your family's history matters, and you deserve thoughtful guidance as you explore it.
